Welcome to my Monte Carlo Restoration Site. Here's my 1972 Monte Carlo with the 454 big block.
My husband, Johnny Lucas, began this project before he died, and to honor him, I intend to finish it.
So, if any of you reading these pages can offer help, advice, suggestions, or encouragement, I can sure use it!

Basically I'm pretty inexperienced in this type of thing. I build websites for a living, not cars. But I'm learning.
I've set up a discussion board on this site in hopes that those of you who know what you're doing will join the discussion and answer questions.
What you see here is the Monte as far as Johnny got with it.

He had the bucket seats reupholstered, and repaired most of the rust on the body. He welded the floor and installed new carpet.
The brakes have been replaced. That's sure a lucky thing because you definitely need good brakes with this car!!
It needs a new windshield, and headliner, and the
driver's side inside panel.

As you can see, the tires are in bad shape, so that's next. The original tires were G78-15's, and I want to go larger but not so large that they will deform on a 7 inch wheel.
I'm leaning toward a 235/70 or 225/75. I'm open to recommendations from anyone who knows. Some say 255/60, but I have 7 inch wheels.

| The engine is probably what
I know least about, but thankfully it is in good shape,
and unbelievably fast!
Years ago Johnny had the it bored out, and bought 7 x 15 racing wheels which are now in need of polishing.
The transmission seems fine as far as I can tell.
I'll have to replace the air conditioning! I live in the
sweltering south!

As you can see, I have my
work cut out for me. I only hope that I'm able to rise
to the task.
As I progress, I will be updating the site with more
photos, and documenting the progress.
So, join in, give me a hand....
